We got invited to our first destination wedding. Erica (Steve's classmate) and Michael said "I do" in Coahuila, Mexico on August 10th and we were there for all the action! This has got to be the funnest wedding we have ever been to - not to mention kid friendly! It all began with a very organized website in which you could RSVP and book a hotel room in Mexico. Now, Coahuila is only 2.5 hours from here so it wasn't far. Anyway, we stayed at the Hotel California. When we got to the hotel we checked in and got our keys along with a detailed program about what to do before and after the wedding. Also, the groom does mission work there and was able to borrow two school buses that toted everyone around to the Mexican market and to the wedding site. So guests didn't have to do anything! Did I mention it was awesome?! Anyway, the wedding was on Friday followed by a light snack and toast. The next day was the reception (we liked this, because it let people see the importance of the ceremony). The next day -morning time -we got to go to a restaurant and ate molletes (bean on a bread with some cheese) for breakfest which was muy delicioso! Then it was the Mexican market. We got Matthew another guitar and Olivia a cute Mexican dress that she got to wear to the wedding reception. So...wedding reception had a MEXICAN FIESTA theme and boy, it sure lived up to it's name!! This is were the kid friendly thing comes in - they had pinatas, mariachi, a playground, and even a live donkey (for pics as souveniers)!! It was soooo much freaking fun!! If we ever get to renew our vows I would do something like this for sure!!! Anyway, here are some pics.
P.S check out the crazy kid playgrounds they have in Mexico - they don't make them like this here!!

Jazmin,
I know you don't know me that well but I saw your comment on the Martin's about you wanting to change the header on your blog and thought I would pass along the info. I gave to Lyssa. Hope this makes sense. --jaime blaisdell
Quick info....
go to www.shabbytulip.blogspot.com ; this will tell you how to change
your background papers
then go to a digital scrapbooking website like www.shabbyprincess.com
(this is the one that I've been referring everyone to but there are
some other ones if you want something different, let me know) and
download some free papers and embellishments. Design your header in
photoshop or something like that then go into your blogger settings
click on template, go to where your header is and click "edit".
click the browse button and upload your header design and click save
(make sure you select the option to replace the original header
otherwise it will overlap and look all crazy)
click save again if needed and you should be done.
You might have to edit the size to make it fit. Just play around with
the html a little bit.
I helped Jill get started a little bit and some other people(I can't
remember because there have been some from TX, AZ, MN,etc. that I get
them all confused) so just ask around. It seems like the word is
spreading on how to do all this down there in SATX.
Let me know if you have any questions though!!
