Chicagoland Fun!

My kiddos & cousin Mia enjoying the backyard!

Waiting for the subway to go to downtown CHICAGO!

Cutie pie, Alexa.

Matthew was on cloud 9! He LOVES trains!!!

Matthew, Mia & auntie Chita.

If you have seen the movie "My Best Friend's Wedding" you can see that we are crossing the bridge on Michigan Avenue!

Me & Matty close to the Sears tower. On our agenda for the day was the Fielding Museum & some eating out!

Here in Naperville's best chocolate coffee shop. I forgot the name but everything on the menu had chocolate in it! It truly was CHOCOLATE HEAVEN!

We ate out a lot! Here is Matthew with his Mickey Mouse pancake!

My sister and I got to have some girlie time, and got our nails done!

Here are my super cute toes!
And here are my sister's slightly less cute toes! JK

My room Interior Re-design!

pic above: Alexa's wall ledge & initial that I painted with leftover wall paint!

Cheap art! I was on a budget, so I got cute coordinating scrap paper and framed it to look like art!

Here is the sweet occupant of this room. Little Alexa!

My sister and I went shopping and found this little rocker with the colors we used in the room for $130 bucks. It was so perfect but a little pricey, so we found some small stain on it and haggled a little, and took it home for 50 bucks!!! it is soooo perfect!

The color palette was chosen by the kitty hanging on the wall ledge. The furniture is the stuff my sister already had, but the colors are meant to go with the white furniture that she will soon purchase.

Another cute & cheap alternative to wall decor was the Chinese paper lanterns! They act as wall decor as well as a mobile!

Alexa is already enjoying her reading nook! By the way, look at her bed head! so cute.

We couldn't leave without going to the Children's Museum. Here is Mia & Matty eager to get inside!

At the museum they had a mini "art class" - so I decided I wanted to paint the Alamo! OK, I was a little homesick!

While cousin Mia enjoyed the art class, Matthew wanted to try out the building shop. What can I say, he's all boy!

Here Matty & Mia discovering color combinations!

Chicago is so much FUN!!! We really had a great vacation, and enjoyed our stay at my sisters house. She recently moved to the suburbs to a really cute house that is close to so many shops & restaurants as well as the subway to get to the city. The subway was key, because it made it easy to get to places with 4 KIDS!!! Some of our outings were interesting... Anyway, we had lots of things to keep us busy like decorating my little niece's nursery! I was itching to paint and decorate, and my sister gave me the green light to do so! We had lots of fun too, so our stay went surprisingly fast! I was a little worried about being away for 3 weeks, but it really did go by so quick that it felt good. So, here are some pictures of what we got to do in the WINDY CITY. I took too many pictures to post, but here are some that sum up our trip. I really recommend taking a trip to Chicago - it is really fun and has some great restaurants as well as awesome museums...and most important of all, GREAT SHOPPING!!! Magnificent mile anyone?!

GLAD TO BE BACK!

You made me homesick for the first time in years. I did most of my growing up in Naperville and haven't been back since. Glad you had fun and got to enjoy some good food. It's the best our there.

Jazmin,
It looks like you guys had lots of fun in Chicago. Dan has been to Chicago for work and he loves. We will have to make it a family vacation sometime. I love the way you decorated your nieces bedroom. It is adorable!

I miss you guys, the house is so quiet! We miss Matty going up and down the stairs and Olivias' smile.

What a blast! I can't believe you got to go for 3 weeks-I bet Steve was missing you like crazy. This past weekend I was gone for 3 days and Brian went crazy (probably because I left Madison with him though!) Glad you are back!

Good job decorating. I need some help in our house, too bad you don't live closer:(

I love Chicago too. Growing up we would go to Chicago for temple trips. Since it was such a long drive we would make it a little youth outing and go to muesums, etc. It really is a fun place to visit! Glad you had fun.
