Knee Pads

Getting Physical!
Feeling the burn!!-not the fitness kind.
All better!

Olivia has been creeping for a while now. She occasionally gets on all fours and takes a few steps but will get back on her belly and army crawl or creep. Anyway, the other day I noticed that her little knees where bleeding from carpet burn! I felt so sad for my sweet girl! I looked online for a product I had heard about called BABY LEGS. They are basically leg warmers for babies, and come in cute patterns for boy and girl. They are mostly used as knee protectors for crawling babies. They are really cute but very pricey. I went and ordered one pair, which cost me $12 dls., but I figured she will use them a lot as knee pads and maybe later as accessories. In the meantime, I made some knee pads from some of her old socks. This will do until we get the "real" knee pads. And yes, I put pants on her but the way she moves still makes a lot of friction on her knees, so hopefully these "extra soft" knee pads will help her. Anyway, Steve wanted me to post the pictures of her "homemade" knee pads because he thinks she looks like an aerobics instructor from the 80's! And come to think of it, she does!

You are a genius! I love the idea of using old socks. I will totally do that. I've been thinking about what to do when my baby starts crawling because this entire house is wood floor and there are small gaps between a lot of the boards (or the ends stick up a bit) since it's all 2x4s, not fancy hardwood.

Very creative Jazmin. I'm impressed! I've seen and heard about those cute little knee pads. I think they are worth the cost to be honest. I too hate seeing their knees all red and sore. Plus, like you said, pants don't always work. Especially if while they are crawling they crawl right out of their pants! :) Olivia is such a pretty little baby. I'm jealous of all the hair!
