I have Strep Throat. Again. Never had it in all my life until three weeks ago...and again this weekend. Some may wonder why I would broadcast my gross throat to the world. It's simple.
Apparently, I should have thrown out the plastic bottle I use to have water at school each day. Some of the bugs took refuge in it while the other ones in my throat succumbed to the power of antibiotics. Not getting a new gatorade bottle - a very simple step to make sure I had gotten rid of the Strep - ended up reinfecting me. So now I am on a second round of penicillin to get well.
So, what is the point to this? Sin tends to be very similar to this. After we cleanse ourselves through the Atonement via repentance, we may forget to throw out our water bottles. We may think we will be fine, and the chances of getting "sick" again are slim. It's very easy, then, to get infected again. Whatever our issues, big or small, easy or difficult, when we get rid of all the things that could lead us back to making the same mistakes, or into the same situation, we are much more likely to remain clean.
And not have sore throats.

SOrry about your sore throat. Sometimes is forget to wash binkies or bottles when the kids are sick and then I wonder why it takes them so long to get well. You would think I would learn.
